Broken Social Scene - Romance to the Grave

I picked up the new Broken Social Scene record last week.  It’s their latest record after a five year hiatus and like all BSS records, it’s taken me a little while to get into the record, but when I do, they turn out to be great moments, full of space, mood and ambience.

It seems the songs on this record are a little more straight-ahead and organized but you can still hear the loosey-goosey, first take style that Broken Social Scene fans are used to.  

Stand outs for me on this record are All to All, Texico Bitches, and Forced to Love.

I personally enjoy the slow building groove as well as the amazing drumming of this band as evidence here in this song, Romance to the Grave.  You can check out some live performances if you like on Qtv.
